Ivan was born a healthy boy on March,22, 2001 in Ursari village. He was developing normally and he didn’t have any problems. Unexpectedly misfortune came! On September9, 2004, when a child was peacefully playing near his house, he was hit by a car moving with high speed. He was thrown on the hood of the car. It was the car of the neighbor who was often speeding trampling the rule of the road. Emergency immediately took unconscious Ivan to the hospital. He was in coma for long time. Doctors told us if he holds out seven critical days, he will survive. But in what state he will be and when he will become conscious nobody could tell.
Ivan received serious craiocerebral trauma. After he went out of coma he wasn’t able to walk. In 2005 he moved his toes for the first time exactly at the day when his little brother Georghiy was born.
On the way to healthiness Ivan struggled suffered a lot of pain. Due to the effort of medical personnel and the parents, the child can walk now. In 2007 he made his first steps since the ill-fated accident occurred. Each year he goes through several rehabilitation courses in special sanatoriums.
Now Ivan walks, smiles, plays, recognizes his parents and brother. But the accident had afflicted him though; Ivan is behind the normal development and the most important – he can’t speak. Since he was hit by a car, he hadn’t uttered a word.
Professor Raylean, who works at The Center of Mother and Child in Chisinau, seas positive dynamics in Ivan’s development. He believes that ultra-modern stem cell treatment will return Ivan the possibility to communicate with relatives and friends. The cost of this treatment varies depending on country.
Many relatives turned their back on the family. The man, who hit the boy, doesn’t help them either.
