Again, a new letter with a plea for help. Their story is described by family Rila. «12 years ago (on 23.10.1999) our long-awaited and much-loved son was born. But six months later we suffered a terrible grief, we learned that Roman can’t hear at all or pronounce any kind of sounds. We have been heavily affected by the idea that becoming parents, we will never hear from our son the so expected words – «mama» and «Dad.» But hope did not left our family. After a series of consultations with doctors, we have acquired a hearing aid and appealed to a rehabilitation center «Suvag» (Kiev). There Roman was taught for a very long time to recognize sounds. Average cost of the open heart surgery is about 8,000 USD. Early treatment is crucial. Let’s help the children with burns in their difficult rehabilitation path
Burns are quite frequent and severe type of injuries. Treatment of burns and recovery from illness is a long and painful process. Throughout the Republic of Moldova there is only one single burn unit for children, which is located in Chisinau, in the hospital named Emilian Kotsaga. NGO «Save Life» for two years is helping children who suffered from burns, and their parents. We purchased expensive drugs that have been given to families for treatment at home, held a Christmas party, to see the joy in the children’s sad eyes. Our dream became a rehabilitation room with a playground for children that are getting the treatment at the burns unit.
