Ana-Maria Grecico, 16 years old

The story of 16 y.o. girl Grecico Ana- Maria is not different from the other stories of thousands of families whose children have been diagnosed with cancer and whose children need help. Amy (as she is called by her family and friends) had always been in good health: no sore throat, no seasonal virus, she never complained for something. But suddenly, on the 26th of June 2014, she felt bad with fever and weakness. For two weeks, doctors tried to understand what happened to the girl. At the 7th of August, Amy’s life as she knew came to end: ultrasonography showed a big tumor in the pelvis, which was confirmed by the computer tomography. Anna Golban, 7 years old

Anna was born a healthy kid on February 21st, 2006. When she was 6 years old a hardening in kidneys area was noticed accidentally. At the local hospital parents were told that this kind of tumor is growing rapidly. Investigations were done at the Center for Maternity and Child. Anna was diagnosed with the 3rd grade of kidney cancer with metastases. Urgently was done a surgery. Afterwards, little later she went through eight rounds of chemotherapy and 20 courses of radiotherapy, and then again 6 cycles of chemotherapy. And Anna was discharged from the hospital. No, she was not cured, in fact, doctors honestly admitted that this is a difficult case, and our medicine cannot help this child. At this point, metastases were in the stomach already. Details…

Tania Munjiu, 17 years old

In September 2013, Tania had to go to school, but she could not raise her head from the pillow. Ambulance took her immediately to the emergency room, because arterial blood pressure was 210/165, severe condition. After analysis, was terrible diagnosis- Renal failure. A week later, Tatiana was connected to the hemodialysis machine. It was terrible to explain to my girl, her youth, dreams, her future it will be replaced by drugs and hospital, that hospital pajamas will replace fancy stuff, the hard bed from hospital will replace friends and home. Laura Busuioc, 4 years old

First three years of life Laura lived a normal life of a little girl : grew out of her dresses, loved new toys, she always was happy, went to kindergarten… And suddenly, after the common cold Laura stopped speaking, and her left arm stopped moving. Frightened parents got advice from many doctors. They diagnosed her : Neuroectodermal tumor of the spine with destruction of vertebrae. In the past year, from July to November, Laura was bedridden, she were unable to move (hands, legs, head). The first sessions of chemotherapy slightly improved her health. To date, Laura underwent 10 sessions in Cancer Institute. However, in order to stop the growth of tumors she must undergo radiotherapy. Details…

Ivan Statnik, 14 years old

With fear, sadness and pain is enveloped in the world of 12 years old Ivan. Only my mother’s love, care, mother’s optimism helped the Ivan’s live. Since the birth the boy struggling with serious illness. This struggle is his life. Arthrogryposis is a very serious disease that affects the articulations and muscles. Ivan has the most severe form of arthrogryposis, when affected both hands, both feet and spine. The boy can’t walk. It hurts to move or even to breathe, but the desire to improve the health is greater than pain. For many years, doctors tried to treat Ivan, but unsuccessfully. The boy had 7 operations, made by local doctors, but his life has not become easier. Just now, thanks to Russian doctors and our people help, there is real hope for partial recovery of Ivan. Assistance to pediatric departments of the Institute of Oncology in Moldova

Our organization has steadily been growing over the past years. As we develop, the volume of requests from parents with children on treatment at the local hospitals, as well as hospitals themselves, has rapidly increased. Many of these requests came from the Institute of Oncology in Chisinau, Moldovan capital. To better serve the needs of our community, we decided to open separate fundraising projects to support pediatric departments of the Institute of Oncology. The Institute makes provision of pediatric departments with medicines and medical equipment its highest priority. However, demand in cases of seriously affected children is always high and assistance is always needed. The doctors do their best to save each and every child.
